Dear Friends of Moms for Moms:
On behalf of the Board of Directors for Moms for Moms, we are writing to let you know that we will cease operation at the end of this year and are no longer accepting new moms into the program.
In our 11 years in operation, Moms for Moms volunteer mentors have supported more than 600 new mothers through the challenges of their baby’s first year. Many mothers who participated in the program went on to volunteer as mentors and support persons for other women. Many of our mentors and the mothers and families they worked with have developed lifelong relationships beyond the program.
We are proud of our organization’s successes and are deeply grateful for your support of mothers with postpartum depression and anxiety. We truly could not have done this work without your help!
If you know of a new mother who needs support, there are services available. We have worked with Women & Infants Hospital for many years and their staff is available to help to connect women to the right services.
Women’s Behavioral Health: (401) 453-7955 Referrals to support groups, counseling, day and inpatient programs for postpartum depression and anxiety and substance use disorder.
The Warm Line: 1-800-711-7011 Staffed by professional nurses and breastfeeding specialists, the Warm Line offers helpful information for mothers of new babies and advice on breastfeeding and postpartum issues.
Thank you again for your support of Moms for Moms.
